So what can you expect from a chemical peel process?
The depth of the peel will depend on the condition being treated.
When the solution is applied the skin will tingle and may feel hot, the sensation lasts for a very short period before the chemical solution is removed. The treatment is between 15-20 min.
Depending on the depth of the peel, the treatment can be repeated every 2 -4 weeks till the required result is achieved. A minimum of 3 treatments is needed to start seeing the required results.
If you'd like the benefits of a chemical peel, you also need to be aware of the care you must take of your skin while it rejuvenates. This “special care” period varies depending on the strength of the peel used. A superficial peel leaves the skin feeling dry with slight flaking of the skin. A medium strength peel leaves the skin feeling dry with more visible peeling, and deep peels leave the skin feeling dry, sensitive, swollen with visible peeling (similar to severe sunburn.)
There are some situations where a chemical peel is not appropriate, and whether you're coming to Revive Skin and Beauty or going elsewhere, you do need to be careful if you have the following contraindications:
The use of topical vitamin A
Reacutane
Hyperpigmentation tendencies
Pregnancy
Open sore or lesions
Sunburn
Diabetes
